Volunteering

Marley's Cat Tales strives to maintain a team atmosphere and stress-free environment in which to spend working toward the common goal of educating the community and caring for the animals in our program. We work to maintain the highest standards of ethics, courtesty to our fellow volunteers of our own and all rescue groups as well as acting as a liason for the organization at all times. There are many ways you can help as a volunteer: - Fostering
- Being a speaker
- Helping with transport of our cats to local events
- Checking on our cats when they visit local pet stores
- Helping out at adoption events
- Helping out with special events (especially our upcoming yardsale)
- Fostering part time when another foster home goes out of town
- Maintaining a candy box at locations around town
- Helping with fundraisers
- and more!

The 4 Habits of Highly Effective Marley's Cat Tales Volunteers - Simple & Easy Things You Can Do For Cat Tales Habit #1: Speak You meet prospective donors, sponsors, and volunteers practically every day of your life. Talk to them about the rescue and encourage them to visit facility and the web site to discover the things that drew the current volunteers to Cat Tales. Commitment Needed Could be as little as 10 minutes. Effect On Cat Tales If 50 people talked to one new person every day about Cat Tales, over the course of the year, more than 18,000 new people would hear about us. If 50 people each recruited one new volunteer every month, we would have 600 new pairs of hands helping. Even if they were only one-time volunteers for the year, the impact would be incredible. Simply speaking up would make an extraordinary difference in only one year. Think about it, if one person tells two people, and those two tell two people?? Habit #2: Serve Demonstrate your volunteer commitment by participating in a service project, educational activity, or fundraiser. Wear a Marley's Cat Tales' T-shirt as you volunteer and tell others that you are serving as a representative of the rescue. Take a photo and let us know about it too! Commitment Needed One hour, half a day, a day or perhaps longer depending on the event. Effect On Cat Tales Prospective volunteers and donors will discover, in a profound way, that Cat Tales can help make a difference in the world. Habit #3: Support Make an annual gift to Cat Tales! Every gift makes a difference! Commitment Needed However much you can give, whatever you can give, or what you can help raise through donations through fundraisers and in-kind gifts. Effect On Cat Tales If just 100 people raised $1 a day for 100 days, we would bring in $10,000. If 250 people were committed to bringing in $250 in cash or in-kind donations for one year, then we'd raise $62500. If 10 volunteers committed to bringing in $250 per month in donations from fundraising, it would bring us $30,000 a year. Steady fundraising would transform Cat Tales into an organization that has the appropriate financial resources to pursue its vision. Corporations and foundations are more likely to support an institution where financial support is strong and consistent. If we had 10 candy boxes bringing in $25 each month, that's $3000 a year. Habit #4: Share - Stay informed about and connected to Cat Tales.
