She was a young kitten, all alone in a neighborhood trying to fend for herself. Luckily, a kind person took her in, provided care for her and brought her into Marley's program.
Posh bonds with the kitties she is with and they in turn adore her. Everyone that meets her is smitten with her sweet, loving charm and demure but affectionate nature. Volunteers noticed that she had a limp so they worked together to get her to our wonderful vet, Dr. Sanders.
Posh was seen on a Sunday and diagnosed with medially luxating patellas and on Wednesday was undergoing surgery. Drs. Albright and Osuna successfully completed surgery and we are watching Posh's recovery.
This is one of many examples of how our volunteers work with the community as a team to make incredible changes for these animals. This page will be updated so that all those who have been a part of these miracles or would like to be can see the breadth of the impact of their actions.
This is Posh the day of surgery, comfortably sleep away and starting to heal already. She responded to my voice when I went to pick her up. Despite being post-surgery, she tried to stand up and walk to me to be held. She loves attention.
Day 1 Post Surgery - She can now stand up and balance without falling over. Her appetite is great but she still wants to be loved on and petted more than anything else.
Day 2- She can stand and walk already. She stretches out her back legs when she stands up. Her pain patch is keeping her comfortable. She is walking with a normal gate but not far as she flops over to get her belly and head scratched every few steps.
Posh is stretching, rolling, kneading her paws and asking for love all of the time. Here she is also showing off her pain patch.
Day 3 and 4 she is eating and purring more and sleeping less. She is walking around well and spending some snuggle time with my boy Chickadee. Posh doesn't like not having another kitty to snuggle with so he visits her to keep her company and then must leave her room so she doesn't try to play yet.
First day with the pain patch off - so far so good!
